RAHS progressives are back meeting in person! We are grateful to have an influx of new members starting this year.

Since we have so many members, we’ve created focused subcommittees: Social Media/Tech, Art, Event Planning, Environmental Group, LGBTQ+, and Outreach. These groups will work together to create change in our community. Social Media/Tech manages the website and social media platforms RAHS progressives are part of (Instagram and Facebook). Art will be creating posters and art when needed for events and protests. Event Planning organizes political demonstrations like protests and walkouts. The Environmental Group campaigns and helps organize events related to environmental issues, focusing specifically on Minnesota issues. The LGBTQ+ group discusses current LGBTQ matters. Outreach group focuses on recruitment and spreading awareness on opportunities for club members to join external from the club.

A couple weeks ago, the Roseville Police requested public comment on the purchasing of drones, which a few of our members participated in by attending the city council meeting to oppose the acquisition of drones. Additionally, renowned hacker Samy Kamkar responded to an email from a club member with his opinion from a technological security perspective.

So far this fall, we’ve recruited students for city council commissions, canvassed for a Minneapolis city council candidate, encourage voters to support the Roseville operating levies, and have a social event in the works!
